Children’s Ministries
We LOVE children at First Friends Church. The Mission Statement for our Children’s Ministries is Partnering with parents to lay a spiritual foundation for children that leads the entire family to a relationship with Jesus Christ.” As you browse this info, you’ll learn about the many ways that we strive to do that for every child that walks through our doors.
Sunday Morning Schedule For Kids:
9:15am | Breakfast Bash (downstairs)
9:30am | Sunday School for All Ages (downstairs)
11:00 | Kid Connection (when dismissed from the 10:30 service prior to the sermon about halfway through)
Breakfast Bash is located downstairs just prior to the start of Sunday School lessons. After students have eaten, they are dismissed to the appropriate Sunday School class. While in Sunday school, students learn about God’s Love including stories from the Bible, activities, and projects to help them remember what they are learning, and a time of prayer with their classmates and teacher.
After Sunday School, students are welcome to join us for the first half of our celebration service at 10:30am. Students will be dismissed to the chapel for Kid Connection. At Kid Connection, students will interact with each other and their teachers to cultivate an age appropriate learning environment.
Childcare Schedule:
8:00 – No Childcare
9:30 – During our ABF/Sunday School hour, our nursery opens for infants and toddlers while Sunday School is provided for all remaining children.
10:30 – During the celebration service, nursery and child care is available for all ages, and is broken up into three groups: infants, toddlers, and PreK/Kindergarden. Children in grades 1-6 are invited to attend Kid Connection during the sermon portion of the 10:30 service.
**All nursery rooms for children that infants, toddlers, and PreK/Kindergarten are located upstairs in the nursery wing.**
Friends for Christ is our Wednesday night children’s ministry that meets throughout the school year from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. Activities include interactive Bible lessons, Scripture memorization, games, crafts, rewards and MUCH more. Each month has its own theme and weekly lessons and activities will relate to the theme. If you have any questions about FFC, call the church office at 330-332-0001 and speak with our Children’s Ministries Director, Cheryl Woolman.
We offer a VBS program each summer! VBS 2024 was a messy blast (See below)! Stay tuned to find out more about the dates, times, and theme for this year!!!
