New Year. New Series. New Direction.

The new year is often a time to make resolutions. We assess our lives. We decide what needs to be set aside. What needs to be added. What needs to change. Maybe, at the dawn of not only a new year, but also a new decade, you’re sensing the need for a new direction for your life?

On Sunday, January 5th, we’ll be starting a new sermon series at First Friends called Open Invitation. The series will take us through a tour of the gospel of Luke, and one of the overarching themes of Luke is the wildly broad—almost scandalously wide—invitation to follow Jesus. In his teaching, healing and sacrifice, Jesus had no single “target audience.” He associated with all kinds of people who might have been considered hopeless, worthless, or too far gone in his day. No person, and no group, was excluded. No one.

This series is a great opportunity to set a new direction for your life, or even just correct course a little if things have been feeling a bit “off” lately. If the new year has you thinking about a new perspective or a fresh start, we’d love for you to join us at First Friends as we allow the Spirit to direct our lives while we explore the story of Jesus together.

All are welcome. It’s an Open Invitation.
