On the last day of the year, it’s only natural to get reflective! In this sermon, we’ll look at the story in the gospels in which Jesus is “transfigured” before three of his disciples. It is an obvious display of his divine nature, but when Old Testament heroes (Moses and Elijah) join him, we must ask: what is the significance of this scene? Among other things, this event teaches us that, in the presence of Jesus, the Church needs to rethink its relationships with the Law and the Prophets.
