Staff

Below you will find information about the ministry staff here at First Friends. We would love to help you in any way possible as you strive to know Christ more deeply and make Him known to others. We also want to take this opportunity to thank the MANY volunteers that make our jobs easier and make the ministries of our church possible.

Pete Fowler – Lead Pastor Pastor Pete began leading our youth in September, 2000. Before that, he interned as a youth pastor at Beloit Friends Church and worked at Camp Gideon in the summers. He has been working in youth ministry since 1997. He graduated Malone College in Canton, Ohio in December 2001 with a degree in Social Studies Secondary Education. He is currently enrolled in graduate education through George Fox Seminary to receive a Master’s of Divinity degree. Pastor Pete started as our Associate Pastor July 1, 2005 and has been the Lead Pastor since the summer of 2012. He has been married to his wife, Mandy, since June 2000. Pete and Mandy have one daughter (Rachel), and one son (Nathan). petefowler@salemfirstfriends.org
Andy Black – Associate Pastor Andy began coordinating music and leading worship at First Friends in September of 2010. Prior to his time in Salem, he interned with the music ministries at Damascus Friends Church, while a student at Malone University. Andy graduated from Malone in 2009 with a degree in Music Education. Originally from Erie, PA, Andy has recently taken on a more administrative and pastoral role at First Friends. Andy and his wife, Amy, recently celebrated their marriage on November 3rd, 2012. andy@salemfirstfriends.org
Bonnie Conser – Visitation Assistant Bonnie joined our staff in her new role in July of 2007. Bonnie fills a vital part of our staff with her focus on visitation and follow-up. Before working in this capacity, she worked as our CE Director for 10 years. She is married to her husband (Don). All their children are out of the home now, but they gladly spend time having their grandchildren in their home.
Mike Barnes -Youth Mike started working with the Youth at Salem First Friends in September of 2010. Since graduating from high school at West Branch in 2009, he has been attending Malone University, studying Bible & Theology and Youth/Sports Ministries where he will graduate in 2013. Mike has been involved in youth ministry in some fashion for the last few years including volunteering at Damascus Friends and working at Lutheran Memorial Camp during the summer of 2010. mike@salemfirstfriends.org
