Building Bridges into Our Community Using Sports and Fitness Programs
Our Sports and Wellness activities and events provide fun and fellowship, and most importantly, a vehicle of outreach to those who have yet to embrace the Good News of Jesus.

Impact Basketball Leagues:
This ministry covers a broad range of events in our sports ministry. In the fall, there is a league offered for men over the age of 18 who are interested in being involved in a fairly competitive league. Games are played for 10 weeks on Saturday mornings and afternoons beginning in October. In the winter months, our focus shifts to our Youth Impact Basketball League. This league is designed to teach kids the importance of fundamentals and teamwork while teaching them what it means to live a Christian life. Registration and a skills assessment (used for organizing teams) occur in November and games begin in January. In addition to this league, there are now plans in the works for a more competitive league involving “club” teams that will run concurrently with the fundamental skills league. Running concurrently with our youth league is a Junior High Developmental League that offers young people in grades 7 and 8 to play in an environment supervised by highly-qualified coaches and teachers. In the summer, we offer a week-long youth basketball camp in conjunction with the Salem High School Basketball program.
Mega Sports Camp (offered during VBS week):
This is an outreach to young people going into grades K-6. Kids choose one sport from among 4 options to focus on for the entire week. They learn new skills, practice them, and then use them in game/competition situations. Highly-qualified coaches are on hand to instruct kids in the areas of basketball, soccer, volleyball, and cheerleading. There are daily and weekly awards for groups and individuals who show good progress in skill building and who also show true teamwork and respect. In addition to sports skill sessions, kids also participate in Huddle Time (where they discuss the daily Bible theme), Snack Time, and Opening and Closing Rallies meant to reinforce each day’s theme. Mega Sports Camp is held each summer in the month of July and registrations typically begin early in the summer.
