We LOVE children at First Friends Church. The Mission Statement for our Children’s Ministries is Partnering with parents to lay a spiritual foundation for children that leads the entire family to a relationship with Jesus Christ.” As you browse this info, you’ll learn about the many ways that we strive to do that for every child that walks through our doors.
Sunday mornings for our children are typically scheduled like this:
9:40am | Breakfast Bash
9:50am | Sunday School for All Ages
11:30 | Kid Connection (when dismissed from the 11:00 service prior to the sermon)
Breakfast Bash is located downstairs and immediately follows the 8:30 worship service. After students have eaten, they are dismissed to the appropriate Sunday School class. While in Sunday school, students learn about God’s Love including stories from the Bible, activities, and projects to help them remember what they are learning, and a time of prayer with their classmates and teacher.
After Sunday School, students are welcome to sit in on the beginning of the second worship service that begins at 11:00. Students will be dismissed to the chapel for Kid Connection. At Kid Connection, students will interact with each other and their teacher using Epic curriculum. Epic revolves around the common thread that is woven through all of Scriptures: God’s loving and real relationship with all peoples. Students will learn about this relationship through the Biblical stories of Creation all the way through the return of the King. Students will be encouraged to talk about and ask questions about their understanding of the Scriptures and their own personal relationship with God. It is a valuable time for students to learn about who God is and how He loves His most prized creation – all of humanity!
During the 8:30 service, our nursery is available for infants and toddlers.
During the 9:45 ABF/Sunday School hour, our nursery remains open for infants and toddlers while Sunday School is provided for all remaining children.
During the 11:00 service, nursery and child care is available for all ages, and is broken up into three groups: infants, toddlers, and PreK/Kindergarden. Children in grades 1-6 are invited to attend Kid Connection during the sermon portion of the 11:00 service.

The program is directed by Cheryl Kholos, and she would love to hear from you. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call the church office (330-332-0001).
Hearts 2 Jesus is a children’s music ministry that includes singing, sign-language, and bell-ringing, and occasionally dance!
They are an active bunch performing regularly in Sunday morning services as well as at area nursing homes! They are directed by Sherry Cvelbar, and would love for you to join them! From September to June, they rehearse on Thursdays from 6:00-7:00.
We are looking forward to VBS 2017, this summer July 24th – 26th in the evenings from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The theme will be “Galactic Starveyors”!
As our kids focus their telescopes on the marvels painted in the sky by our Creator, they will discover the wonder among all wonders: that the God who created everything — the knowable and the unknowable, the visible and the invisible — wants a personal relationship with them! We can’t wait to show our kids the God who is over the moon in love with them!
