What are your favorite things to do?
I love looking for treasures in antique stores, reading, playing the piano, playing handbells, going to craft shows, collecting bells, and traveling!

What might people be surprised to know about you?
I am a descendant of Abraham Lincoln. Yes, it’s true! In my great grandmother Nellie’s obituary, it says “Her grandfather (Henry Lincoln) was a first cousin of Abraham Lincoln, who visited her grandfather’s home often in New York City.” My son-in-law was a tough sell on this fact, but once he saw the newspaper clipping and family tree, even he has to believe!

What is your favorite vacation spot?
My favorite vacation spot is THE BEACH! Anywhere there’s sand, sun, and family!!! I love walking along the beach and looking for seashells.

What is your go-to coffee order?
My go-to coffee order is… tea! Hot tea, no cream, no sugar, just black.

If I could have any superpower, I’d be a Zapper! …I’d go around zapping migraine headaches!

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Well, this Quaker girl has to admit it would be anything disco! I LOVE that syncopated beat! Disco music IS my happy place!

If you could spend the day with any notable person or celebrity, past or present, who would it be?
The greatest president there ever was (and my personal favorite)… Abraham Lincoln! What he went through to abolish slavery was such a remarkable and honorary accomplishment, thanks to his great faith and reliance on God.

If you could choose to be ANY animal, what would you be?
A horse — They are strength, gentleness, beauty, and grace… with thundering hooves! (Besides, I’d have a car named after me!)

What is your favorite season?
As a child, I remember it used to be springtime, but the older (and wiser) I get it’s summertime all the way!

What one household appliance could you not live without?
The one household appliance I could not live without is a hot water tank; got to have hot water!

Is there a particular quote that you are inspired to live by?
“Happy Today!” It has been my montage ever since I saw it on a little, bright yellow notebook I bought back in the 70s with a picture of Snoopy kicking his heels up. Furthermore, there is also: “Every day is a gift from God, that is why it is called the Present.”

Do you have a favorite scripture verse?
I Peter 5:7 “Cast all your cares upon Him, for He careth for you.” This was actually the first Bible verse I ever memorized. I had a little wooden plaque, probably from the Friends Bookstore, that had “He careth for you” engraved on it. Even as a young child, the magnitude of this beloved verse spoke to me.
